Use a Focnera schedule as a bedtime boundary: choose distracting apps, set an evening start and morning end, and select the nights it should repeat. The apps are restricted automatically during that window. This is an app-blocking sleep timer, not an audio shutoff or sleep tracker.

These are suggested settings, not a built-in preset. Select the apps and hours that fit your needs.

Try it step by step

  1. Decide which nighttime tools you need before choosing the apps to block. Leave your alarm and essential contacts available.
  2. Open Schedules, choose New schedule, and name it “Bedtime boundary”.
  3. Choose your repeating days and time window. The example below uses 22:30–07:00 next day; adapt it to your routine.
  4. Select the apps to block, optionally add a reminder message, and save the enabled schedule. Required protection permissions must be granted.
  5. After a few nights, check whether the window fits your actual bedtime and morning commitments. Adjust it instead of repeatedly pausing it.

An overnight window follows its starting day

A Monday schedule from 22:30 to 07:00 begins Monday evening and continues into Tuesday morning. Choose the days on which the night begins. For Sunday-through-Thursday nights, select those starting days rather than Monday through Friday.

Focnera recognizes an end time earlier than the start time as an overnight window. Keep the setup focused on selected distractions; it does not shut down the phone or stop all notifications.

Give the boundary a practical purpose

Put a book, a journal, or whatever you want to do instead within reach. A restriction makes an app less accessible; it does not choose your evening activity for you.

This routine does not guarantee better sleep or treat sleep difficulties. If you need an app overnight for work, care, or accessibility, leave it available and adapt the window to your responsibilities.

Common questions

Will the sleep timer stop my music or turn off my phone?

No. Focnera schedules restrict selected apps. They are not a media playback timer, alarm, sleep monitor, or device shutdown feature.

What if I need to change today’s plan?

Pause the current schedule window when needed. Its apps can remain blocked by another active schedule or manual focus session. Edit or disable the schedule when you want to change the repeating routine.
