These are suggested settings, not a built-in preset. Select the apps and hours that fit your needs.

Try it step by step

  1. Agree on a realistic shared window and choose only apps you can step away from during it.
  2. Open Schedules, choose New schedule, and name it “Family Time”.
  3. Choose your repeating days and time window. The example below uses 18:30–19:30; adapt it to your routine.
  4. Select the apps to block, optionally add a reminder message, and save the enabled schedule. Required protection permissions must be granted.
  5. Ask whether the window matched the family routine. Edit the days or length when activities change.

Make it a shared expectation

Explain that you are putting a boundary on your own distractions. The schedule does not have to be a rule imposed on everyone else. A short, predictable stretch can be easier to follow than a vague promise to use the phone less.

Choose the activity first: cooking together, helping with a puzzle, or catching up after work. The schedule simply supports the attention you want to bring to it.

This is a boundary on your device

A Focnera schedule does not remotely manage a child’s device or synchronize blocking across the household. Each person’s phone and app choices are separate.

Keep urgent communication available. If plans change, pause the current window; another active schedule or manual session may still restrict some apps.

Common questions

Does Family Time block apps on everyone’s phones?

No. It is a name you can give a schedule on your own device, not a family account or remote parental-control feature.

What if I need to change today’s plan?

Pause the current schedule window when needed. Its apps can remain blocked by another active schedule or manual focus session. Edit or disable the schedule when you want to change the repeating routine.
